The Iron Horse Station is made up of three adjoining historic buildings located along the main street of Hot Springs . The original inn was built in 1929, while today's Restaurant and Tavern, formerly a haberdashery and later a movie theatre, was reported to have been built prior to 1890 and is said to be the oldest building in the county. The present Shops and coffee bar were previously a general goods store and more recently Ponder Hardware Store.

A painstaking restoration in 2005 - 2006 by RJS Properties of Charlotte, North Carolina, has successfully preserved the unique character and original architecture of The Iron Horse Station. This beautiful location features original brick exposed through plaster walls, transom windows, heart-of-pine hardwood flooring, elaborate cornice work, and stamped tin ceilings. This property continues to serve the town of Hot Springs and all of its visitors as a welcoming destination for all to enjoy.
